Housing Registration
Lodging is available for people who are participating in the stop-loss congress actions on Capitol Hill . HOUSING IS FREE but costs organizers $5.00 pp/pn so donations are greatly appreciated. Located at Saint Stephens Church 1525 Newton Street,NW (near IVAW's DC hdqtrs.) and close to a Metro stop, which is called Columbia Heights (yellow or green line).
Saint Stephens has a long history of welcoming people of conscience who are resisting war.
People should bring a yoga mat and sleeping bag or inflatable mattress. We call this "urban camping." There are no shower facilities at this location. You can wash up in the bathrooms or use baby wipes. People have survived for thousands of years without modern-day showers.
There is no parking at the church and we suggest that you park at one of the long-term parking lots on the outer Metro Stops and take the metro to the church. Click here for Metro map and parking is indicated by a car icon. There is also a gargage nearby but it is more expensive.
