Scott Hamann, documentary film maker

Scott has a full service award winning video production company based in South Portland, Maine. His documentary "U.buntu Kayamandi" was featured in the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. It is a documentary about the poverty cycle in a post-apartheid South Africa shanty town. We observe a newly democratic nation as it heals the wounds of inequality and redefines its future.

Scott has produced a documentary short entiled "Dad on Fire Blues" which will be premiering at BUS BOYS&POETS on Tuesday March 11th from 6 to 8pm. It is the story of Carlos Arredondo, who learned of the death of his son in Iraq on his birthday. In his outpouring of grief turned into rage he ignited the military vehicle of the messengers, accidently igniting himself. He survives with his wife Melida and together they tour the country with their message of the human cost of war.
